Southern Bream Series Botany Bay

Story by Dominic Wiseman

Mako Ambassador Sam Blundell fished round 8 of the Southern Bream Series on Sunday September 10, the the last of the proper season ahead of the Grandfinal in November. The comp was held in Sydney on the picturesque Georges river.
Sam prefished the event on Saturday and found quality bream in the oyster leases with many winning their freedom. This set up his Sunday plan with a descision made to head straight there first up.
Come Sunday he came out swinging 1.3kg 46cm tip fish out of the racks on a prolure grub tail. After exhausting the racks he moved to the mangrove edges and threw prolure crankbaits puting together a nice bag of 2.3kg to secure the win!
His prescription mako sunnies with a brown lens worked a treat enabling him to see the oyster encrusted edges which was the key in finding the fish. He found most edges holding oysters were where the bream would sit.
He is now looking to Forster on September 16 and 17 to compete in his first Hobie event fishing over the two days.
