Freshwater Masters Report, Mako Team Wins

Story by Murray Chapman

The 16th Freshwater Masters has been run and won.  Some of New South Wales and Victoria's most experienced freshwater anglers chased three iconic freshwater species including the enigmatic Golden Perch at Lake Wyndamere, the ever feisty Australian Bass at Lake Glenbawn, with the final leg at Lake Mulwala, targeting the mighty Murray Cod.

Points were scored across all three legs with anglers and teams measuring their best 5 fish after each two day session.  Going into the final, it's was one of the closest on record, with several teams vying for the top spot.  Dave Shelton and Murray Chapman from Team Yamaha/Mako prevailed, taking out the champion team event with Chappo bagging the biggest cod.

The Team Wilson crew jagged the Mako lucky team boat draw and picked themselves up a pair of Escape G3HR sunglasses each.  Dave and Chappo also wore the G3HR lenses for the Mulwala leg. The copper lenses with amber base proved invaluable for spotting the mass of submerged stumps and snags which the lake is famous for.  The G3HR's are the perfect lenses for this style of freshwater fishing.
