Australian Freshwater Masters Final

Story by David Shelton

The final of the 18th Freshwater Masters was held over the weekend of February 11/12 with Mako's Dave Shelton competing on one boat and Murray Chapman in another. Dave has been travelling all over Australia recently so hadn't pre fished at all for the Windamere or Glenbawn rounds, as well as Mulwala this weekend.

Despite that, he and Brendan Lee still managed 5th overall, with Brendo bagging the trophy for biggest Yellowbelly at the Windamere leg as reported earlier. The Mulwala leg was pretty tough as it always is and the heat made it extra tough. Temps around 44 degrees beled the 26 teams on the first day alone.

Chappo’s team (Mako-Eyewear) pulled in at 13th overall, which is a great result as Chappo had not skippered during the Freshwater Masters before.
